I went freelance from the BBC in the Summer of 2011.

For 15 years I cut documentaries, magazine inserts, news packages, web tasters and sometimes the dreaded “finishing off someone else’s edit”.

From stories of war, terrorism and politics to domestic issues and intimate portraits, I think we as editors adopt the style and techniques appropriate to the unique subject matter presented to us in the edit, to make the most compelling story possible within the time limit.

"Films are never finished merely abandoned before transmission."

Over the past few years I have been a regular first choice editor for Panorama and most recently cut the acclaimed one-hour special Undercover Care – The Abuse Exposed.

"Editing sound and picture is an invention of the 20th Century, is it sculpting time ?"

In 2010 I was lead editor on BP: $30 Billion Blowout which won the Wincott Award for Best Factual TV programme of the Year.

My knowledge of the oil industry has increased tenfold.
